Precision Awarded Construction Contract for the South Lot Interpretive Plaza and Shuttle Shelter

Precision construction services' awarded Construction Contract for the South Lot Interpretive Plaza and Shuttle Shelter

Precision Construction Services was awarded the construction contract for a project located in Yosemite National Park for the South Lot Interpretive Plaza and Shuttle Shelter.

The project includes: minor utility relocation to the plaza with installation of natural boulder seating, concrete paving, fabrication and installation of new orientation, wayfinding and interpretive signage and exhibits for visitors. The project also includes a new bus shelter and Valley Shuttle Stop which serves the Yosemite Village Day-use South Lot Parking Area.

Over the years, Precision has developed a strong working relationship with the National Park Service and has established a presence in Yosemite National Park through numerous projects. The Interpretive Plaza and Shelter will be constructed near the South Lot Comfort Station that Precision built in 2019, and will only add to the natural beauty of that area.

Randy Engelkirk, Precision’s Field Engineer had this to say about the upcoming project: “Everything built in the park is held to the highest standards, and even the simple features like boulder seating  and signage are made to compliment the natural environment.  As my first project working for Precision, I’m honored to have the opportunity to add to Precision’s experience in Yosemite National Park.”

Construction has already begun and is expected to be completed near the end of August 2021.
