Precision Construction Services Awarded New Construction Contract for Island Plaza in Yosemite National Park

Precision Construction Services was awarded the National Park Service’s Prime Contract for the construction of the Yosemite Village South Lot Comfort Station.

The Comfort Station, located within the heart of Yosemite National Park, is a ground-up project which consists of men’s and women’s restrooms, multiple family rooms and surrounding site work to accommodate the facility. As the General Contractor for the project, Precision will be responsible for an on budget, timely project delivery that upholds the design guidelines for this iconic Park.

Precision will be supplying all necessary field supervision, project management and skilled tradesmen for the project. The comfort station will be constructed almost entirely by Precision’s own, in-house team members. More specifically, Precision will be self-performing the following trades:

  • Excavation
  • Underground Utilities
  • Concrete / Building Foundation
  • Structural & Finish Carpentry
  • Structural & Architectural Steel
  • Millwork
  • Doors & Windows
  • Insulation / Drywall / Painting
  • Waterproofing / Siding / Roofing

When asked about the project, Erik Wright, Principal at Precision Construction Services said, “Working in Yosemite National Park is a dream come true! This Park has always been one of my favorite places and I feel so fortunate to be a part of its history.”

Precision Construction Services was in competition with almost a dozen other contractors from across the country for the project. The National Park Service made their decision to award the project to Precision as a result of our project team, track record of success and experience on projects that require a high level of craftsmanship.

The project is expected to break ground in March of 2019 and be complete by years end.
