Precision Team Members Volunteer at Annual California Coastal Cleanup

Annual California Coastal Cleanup

On September 21, 2019, Precision Construction Services volunteered at the annual coastal cleanup in San Luis Obispo County at Morro Bay Rock. This event was held by the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo (ECOSLO), a local non-profit organization that educates, advocates, and acts to protect and enhance the natural environment and human well-being of San Luis Obispo County. In addition to providing volunteers for the event, Precision was a new sponsor for ECOSLO 2019.

A total of 11,533 pounds of trash was collected between 48 locations, covering more than 100 miles of beaches, parks, lakes, and creeks. Precision team members focused on the Morro Bay Rock location, and contributed in collecting 25 pounds of recycling and more than 45 pounds of trash. Volunteers alleviated the oceans, watersheds, and wildlife from debris such as cigarette butts, fishing lines, food wrappers, and plastic bottle caps.

Krista Burke, Site Coordinator and member of the ECOSLO Board, thanked Precision Construction Services for sponsoring the event this year, as well as for the volunteer contributions.

The impact that Precision made on the annual clean-up day is essential to ensuring that SLO County stays clean and safe for humans, wildlife, and nature in general. Picking up so much trash is a great reminder to all of us to bring out what we bring in and never leave anything behind while enjoying the natural landscapes of SLO County.
