Construction Management

After almost 20 years of planning, fundraising, and permitting, Habitat for Humanity is set to build nine homes for low-income families on Vine Street in Paso Robles. Earlier this year, the nonprofit housing organization chose Precision as Construction Manager for the project, which will be built using a combination of volunteers and construction professionals, with groundbreaking in early 2023.

Precision is currently working on preconstruction for the project, including a review of current construction drawings, the project schedule, and the draft RFP and project bid forms. We are assisting with revisions to all these documents as well as with subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, and subcontractor selection. By request, Precision will also negotiate contracts on behalf of Habitat for Humanity.

When construction begins – with an estimated five months of site work and one year for vertical construction – Precision will oversee all phases from contracting to closeout, dedicating a full-time superintendent and support staff to the project. We’ll handle change orders, site safety, risk management, monthly billing reviews, weekly owner-architect-contractor meetings and monthly progress reports, quality control, and oversight of all consultants and subcontractors. We will also assist with community relations and interaction with the city, as needed.

At the end of the project nine Central Coast families will have a new place to call home – one that Precision helped them build.
