Modernizing and Polishing an Operations Base

Precision completed extensive upgrades to SoCalGas’ Palm Desert facility. The 10,000-square-foot building houses locker rooms and restrooms for work crews, as well as 4,700 square feet of administrative areas and offices.

Precision demolished these interiors to the studs and rebuilt them to improve aesthetics, incorporate current ADA standards, and increase energy efficiency to meet Title 24 energy codes.

The construction work includes soft-cutting the slab; replacing storefront windows and doors; installing new rooftop heating and cooling systems; installing new tiling, showers, toilets and lockers; and building an office kitchenette and conference room. The office area is finished with a T-bar dropped ceiling, carpeting and polished concrete flooring.

In addition, Precision provided exterior upgrades including parking lot paving, security gates, and paint.

The base remained fully operational throughout demolition and construction, requiring work on nights and weekends, and installing temporary trailers for offices, locker room, and restrooms.
