Precision’s latest project for The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County is The Calf Barn, the last structure in the Pereira Octagon Barn Center, a historic gateway to San Luis Obispo and a popular gathering spot.
Precision’s architectural partner on the project, Ten Over Studio, designed the wood-framed structure to blend with the 1906 Pereira Octagon Barn. The Calf Barn is situated at the head of the Bob Jones Bike Trail and will provide a bike repair shop, small retail space, storage, and restrooms for everyone enjoying the trail and the center.
As general contractor, Precision is responsible for managing every scope of the ground-up project, including all site work, poured concrete foundation, framing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, restroom interior finishes, fire alarm system and sprinklers. Some of the unique features of this project include the three sets of custom manufactured Barn Doors, Cross Laminated Timber exposed roof beam, and fire-resistant cement board siding.
This is Precision’s second project for the Land Conservancy, a community-supported nonprofit on California’s Central Coast. In 2018-2020, Precision served as Construction Manager for the Conservancy’s 880-acre Pismo Preserve, a vast open space area above Pismo Beach with panoramic views spanning the coastline.
